The fact that an Iditarod dog can burn 10,000 calories a day while racing is remarkable.

In this activity, make yourself a menu and see how much food you would have to eat in order to keep up (calorie-wise!) with a sled dog. Afterwards, learn how a sled dog gets the energy they need on the Iditarod trail.
