Audio Updates From Far, Far Away:
"A Trip Of A Lifetime" and "2,100 Miles Of Racing... 10 Days Apart"
Audio Updates From The Trail
A Little History:
In 1925, a dog team relay saved the town of Nome by carrying life-saving serum through some of the harshest weather conditions Alaska can provide.
More than seven decades later, a 19 day trip was created that retraces the 768 mile historic route.
This page will provide daily audio updates live from the trail as Mark, Debbie and Hannah Moderow travel the historic route by dogteam and snowmachine. Their reports will share the experience of traveling through rural Alaska with listeners far, far away.

2100 Miles Of Racing
The Iditarod and Yukon Quest...
10 Days Apart
Audio Updates From The Trail
About The Journey:
The 1000 mile Yukon Quest is known as the toughest sled dog race in the world, and the 1100 mile Iditarod is nicknamed 'The Last Great Race'.
The winner of the Yukon Quest finishes that race roughly 10 days before the start of the Iditarod.
Running one or the other is difficult. Experienced mushers will tell you that the effects of extreme sleep deprivation will last for weeks after completing either of the races. You'd have to be crazy to run both in the same year, right?
Well, not if you are Aaron Burmeister. Aaron is tackling the two toughest dog races in the world... with a 10 day break between the two.
Follow his journey here.
